Crystal Pools Hike and Swim
Crystal Pools is a very popular hike close to Gordons Bay. It hosts a series of natural rock pools in a beautiful Valley known as the Steenbras River Gorge, it officially forms part of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, and the hike follows the Palmiet River up the gorge.
The hike isn’t too strenuous but there are inclines and declines so you will work up a good sweat and earn that swim.
We’ll hike to 4 pools, swim when it suits the group progress, have a long break at our favorite pool and return the same route taking breaks when necessary throughout.
Meet up: 7:45 am
Hiking Duration: 5 hrs complete
Distance:Β 6km
Difficulty level: Entry level – we will take our time with the steep sections and keep the group together at all costs. There’s also a short technical section before getting to the last pool where you will have to maneuver up and over some rocks.

Absolutely stunning, views were breathtaking. The trail was clean and well marked. Idrees was very entertaining, awesome guy. As I’m a bit older and not as fit as the younger crowd i thought the pace a bit fast. Although saying that Idrees always checked to see if we were all okay. Will definitely come again.
