Spend your morning hiking one of the best routes Table Mountain National Park has to offer with this guided tour.
The hike from Smitswinkel Bay to Simons Town is one for the books, such a beautiful experience, giving way some of the best views overlooking the peninsula and even hiking up a ridge where you can see the ocean on both sides. It’s tranquil, strenuous at times but sooo fulfilling.
The difficulty level will vary from person to person, however, it is a one-way route covering 12km and roughly 800 meters elevation gain. There is some flat terrain after the first peak but there are also more hills later on that require endurance to summit. There’s a technical side early in the hike featuring some mild scrambling(using of hands) here and there. It could easily take six hours to complete the hike. You require confidence in your ability, a challenge that some will absolutely love, but where others may need some guidance and a helping hand. We’ll all make it up successfully by not rushing it, working together and really just enjoying the time out above the rest of Cape Town. It’s really one of Cape Towns finest adventures.

This is definitely one for the books. Be prepared to give up majority of your day for this hike, but my oh my is it worth it! There are literally non stop views of the south peninsula for the duration of the hike and as you get closer to the end, views of Table Mountain and Constantia region like you’ve never seen them before. There are 3 main ascents, some with scrambling sections and the last one seems never ending but it’s so worth the climb when you get to the top. Jody was so patient with us, we never felt rushed and were allowed to take our time and completed the hike as a group. This is definitely a route less traveled and I think we only came across one other hiking group for the whole day, so an excellent retreat from what can be a busy mountain. Probably my most favourite hike and definitely one I’d sign up for again with no hesitation.
