Eagles Nest to Camel Rock

This hike offers a bit of everything…

We’ll begin with a steep but short (30mins) hike up to Eagles Nest, a perfect spot to catch the sunrise while enjoying a hot beverage.

We’ll follow through with an adventurous hike up Constantia Corner which is the remainder of the ascent as it flattens out when getting to the top.

Just before we get to marvel at the iconic Camel Rock, we will take another short break at a cave-like rock formation overlooking the mountain top filled with a variety of fynbos.

It is a circular loop route and the way back passes De Villiers Dam followed by gentle descent as we zig zag down the jeep track.

Duration : 4-5hrs (depending on pace)

Difficulty level: Intermediate – steep terrain, some mild exposure for short moments. There are a few short sections where you’ll need to use your hands while climbing but not too technical though.

We’ll do a briefing prior to starting the hike to ensure readiness. All we need to do is decide on a date 🙂
