Located on the front side of Table Mountain and accessed via Tafelberg Road, Platteklip Gorge is a popular route up to the top!
Expect incredible views of the surrounding peaks, Lion’s Head, Devil’s Peak and the city of Cape Town below the slopes.
We’ll hike up, take a break at Platteklip Stream located at the lower end when reaching the Contour Path, then continue all the way up. The views from the top are nothing short of incredible. There is a shop at the top if you intend on having breakfast or just grabbing a snack and a souvenir.
The Cable Car ride down will also be quite a special and unique experience. (Cost is not included)
It would be smart to book your Cable Car ticket (One way down) in advanced.

What to bring along:
- Preferably hiking clothing and shoes / gym attire will do
- A windbreaker / rain jacket / extra layers incase it gets cold
- Sun hat, sunscreen
- Sufficient water – 1.5 litres should be enough
- Enough energy foods for the hike
- Any personal medication
