Judas Peak – 18th Jan (Intermediate)

Judas Peak is located above Houtbay at an elevation of 758 ASL.  Overlooking Llandudno and the Atlantic coast, this is quite an adventurous route as it includes some scrambling and some areas of exposure that will have your heart racing with excitement!

With that said, it is 100% worth the climb to achieve the reward of taking in the magnificent 360 views of the 12 Apostles and surrounding peaks stretching all across the Table Mountain range. It is really a unique view and a feeling that’s hard to describe!

We have done this route many times and it is certainly one of the less travelled routes which allows for a peaceful experience. We will ascend the mountain via the breathtaking Myburgh’s Waterfall Ravine where you can expect mossy boulders that are dwarfed by incredible cliffs on either side.

Safety is our main priority as we go on this adventure, we will take our time on any technical sections to ensure everyone is comfortable and completes the hike safely.

When you reach the top, the landscape changes dramatically from lush green forest to mountain top grasslands. You’ll have to remind yourself that you are on Table Mountain!

Once we reach the summit of Judas Peak, we will enjoy a hot beverage while mapping the Cape Peninsula and Atlantic coast. These breathtaking 360 degree views will be worth every step! We’ll descend back to our starting point along Llandudno Ravine which is an adventurous route in itself.

What an incredible route seeing all the best that Table Mountain has to offer in one hike. What makes TrailFit special is that their routes are off the beaten track is not the usually crowded trails. This route is one of the most beautiful that I have done on Table Mountain.
