India Venster Private Tour

A challenge for those who enjoy longer, more strenuous hikes. India Venster has a lot of uphill climbing, some technical scrambles and areas with exposure, so if you are looking for an adrenaline filled adventure, this hike is for you! Expect incredible views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, Devil’s Peak and the city of Cape Town below the slopes.

Most people travel half way around the world to do this type of tour in Cape Town. It’s definitely a bucket list adventure.

Meet up location : Lower Cableway Station, Tafelberg Road

Weather : 13 degrees and a bit overcast (which may change)

Duration : 5-6hrs (possibly less depending on pace)

NB. It’s COMPULSORY that you either have steep terrain hiking experience or that you are relatively active. If really terrified of heights, this is probably not for you. But if you’re adventurous and like a bit of a challenge, you can only enjoy it. Don’t believe everything you read online about the route…You’re welcome to enquire from us if you’re unsure.

Difficulty level: Intermediate – Involves hiking for around 8km in distance including steep sections and using our hands to assist here and there (scrambling). There are also some exposed sections so being relatively comfortable with heights is recommended.

We’ll do a briefing prior to starting the hike to ensure readiness.

What’s included : Qualified and Experienced Guide, First aider, A choice of warm beverage.

What to bring along :

Preferably hiking clothing and shoes with good grip
A windbreaker/rain jacket
Extra layer for warmth,
Sun hat, Sunscreen
Sufficient water – 1.5 litres each should be enough
Enough energy snacks for the duration of the hike
Any personal medication
