Hiddingh Ascension 3 Sept (Strenuous)

It may the most beautiful hike you’ve done on Table Mountain featuring Waterfalls, mesmerizing rock formations, the best views and maybe even Himalayan Tahrs (mountain goats)

The scenery is like no other area on Table Mountain and the trail isn’t quite visible which makes it more of an adventure throughout. The views are just… Well at the highest point you can see The west coast, helderberg mountains, Hout Bay, Muizenberg… So that’s just about everything.

Note that it’s steep, strenuous, technical and a bit exposed.

• Date : Sunday 3rd Sept
• Meet : Kirstenbosch at 8:00 am (R80 entry fee)
• duration : +- 5 hours 30 min

Route Description: This hike requires a good fitness level however, and it may take 5-6 hours to complete the route, we’ll hike and scramble up the flowing ravine, around and up the ridge to get into a parallel ravine that leads to the highest point of Table Mountain – Maclears Beacon. From there we’ll make our down the quickest safest route – Nursery Ravine back to Kirstenbosch.
