One of the hidden gems on the Atlantic side, Three Firs offers dramatic views, ample scrambling opportunities and sheer drop-offs to get that adrenaline pumping! This hike has everything from incredible rock formations, a visit to a cave and hiking along a river.
This circular route will take us to the top of the back table along the Three Firs route. A steep but fairly short ascent with some technical scrambles and exposure, Three Firs offers a perspective of the mountain like you’ve never seen before!
Once at the top, we’ll marvel at the “Saucy Dog” rock formation followed by a quick visit to Rendezvouz Cave. Bring your headlamp and sense of adventure! From here we’ll hike along the Old Railway Track and visit two of the reservoirs on the mountain – Hely Hutchinson and Woodhead Dam.
Leaving the Waterworks Museum we’ll hike along the Upper Disa River to the Aquaduct and make our way to Kasteelpoort via Echo Valley. Expect lush Fynbos, ice cold mountain water and peaks you haven’t even heard of. We’ll descend the mountain down Kasteelspoort and have a last break at Breakfast Rock.
Keep in mind that this is by no means an easy hike, safety is our main priority and we will do our best to minimize risk to ensure everyone completes the event safely. Please enquire if you are unsure about your capability.

Officially my favourite hike up and around Table Mountain. This hike ticks so many boxes and allows for so many diverse sightings including Saucy Dog, the diving board, Disa River, rock pools, fynbos, boardwalks, dams, and spectacular views. The hike has its challenges with a steep ascent up Three Firs and with it being 18km you’ll need some endurance. But with plenty to see along the way it’s well worth it.Thank you Trailfit for another amazing hike!

Definitely one of my top trails on Table Mountain. Yes, there’s a steep ascent but the whole way up is the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic and Cape flora along the way. Once that’s summited, the kaleidoscope of landscapes is awe-inspiring and thrilling. It’s difficult to put into words, but know that you won’t regret doing it. Thanks to Trailfit SA for an awesome hike!
