Smitswinkel Tented Camp, situated close to the entrance of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, is the last “touching the earth lightly” camp to be built by Sanparks in Table Mountain National Park. Set in the shadows of a flowering Gum plantation, this 12 sleeper camp is perfectly located to enjoy hikes to Cape Point and surrounding.
We’ll guide 1 full day tour, such a beautiful experience, giving way some of the best views overlooking the peninsula and even hiking up a ridge where you can see the ocean on both sides. It’s tranquil, strenuous at times but sooo fulfilling. This is the only one we’ll do cause it could take several hours to complete so you might want to sleep in a bit the next morning before checking out.
Accommodation
The 6 x 2 sleeper “tents” are permanent structures, with canvas interiors covered by a completely weatherproof sheeted roof. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom and equipped kitchenette. Linen and towels are provided on the 2 single beds. You may book as a single person and have the the space completely to yourself
Secure parking and “braai” facilities. The camp has a fully equipped Boma with indoor fireplace and “braai” facility. The outside “braai” facility may be used, although this is weather dependent. Secure parking for your vehicles. Shops are not close to the camp.

Ticked all the boxes for a quick value for money mini break with some unexpected surprises . Accommodation very good and exceptionally clean. Loved having the choice of indoor or outdoor braai. Fabulous hiking and a highly attentive host. . Had a weekend full of laughter and the outdoors and everything taken care off . Would definitely do it again

A magnificent hiking experience! Outstanding views! Not the easiest of hikes, there are quite a few ascents that involve some scrambling, but it was lots of fun! The tented camp was cosy, comfy and spotlessly clean! Loved the boma and fireplaces! Many thanks Jody for another fun adventure and the great cooking!
