Situated in a conservancy area on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, Newlands forest lies at a natural transition zone between endangered Granite Fynbos and an indigenous forest. Boasting several streams and kloofs, the forest canopy provides shade for an abundance of trails.
Following the old woodcutters trail, we’ll ascend the mountain slope for 2km before taking a well deserved break at the Newlands Picnic Table. From here, the trail winds along the mountain side with incredible views of the woodlands as we make our way to the waterfall.
After the recent rainfall, the waterfall is in full flow and makes for a memorable experience and makes the climb up to the contour path worth the effort!
