Cederberg: Wolfberg Arch Wildcamp 18-20 Oct (Advanced/Technical) (Copy)

This hike is one of the most beautiful multiday hikes in the world and an outdoor lovers dream. It allows you to pass through the Wolfberg Cracks – narrow faucets leading to a different planet. You’ll feel like a spec between those massive cracks once you squeeze your way through the tight space.

The rock formations throughout the entire route are actually mind blowing but it starts to get really exiting once you see the actual Wolfberg Arch in the distance. You’ll marvel at this Arch in all it’s glory while you’re there. One of the craziest things about this mesmerizing rock formation besides camping there is that you will experience the sunset and sunrise which many wildcamping options don’t offer. Most people only do a day hike and cannot take in the full experience of being present there for an extended period. We’ll do a round trip and take a slightly shorter route back.

Ideally, you would like to spend 3 days here – first night in regular accommodation, second night wild-camping at the arch. The pricing for this tour is for the guiding services and includes all meals + accommodation on the night prior to the hike.

Itinerary

day 1

• Depart Cape Town at 12 noon
• Arrive and check in at accommodation.
• Dinner and social time around the fire place.

Day 2

• depart accommodation : 7:00am
• Final prep for hike – gear check/briefing
• Hike the Cracks, Arrive at the Arch, set up camp. enjoy the late afternoon exploring a bit and then the sunset while having dinner.

Day 3

• Pack up and set off return hike at 8am.
• Complete hike around 11am, get refreshments before driving back to Cape Town.

Hike Duration : 6-7 hrs day 1… 2.5 hrs day 2

Distance : 17km complete

What’s included : All meals for the duration of stay, First night accommodation, Experienced multiday guide and medic, hiking gear (tent, rucksak, sleeping bag and sleeping pad, torch etc)

Difficulty : there are technical parts that you need to get through, there is an alternate option if you cannot manage. a level of endurance will ensure that you enjoy the hike thoroughly.
