Skeleton Gorge to Aquaduct – 29 Jan (intermediate)

The Disas are in full bloom and we are going on a hunt!

Join us on a longer, more strenuous hike as we clamber up Skeleton Gorge, visit the Hely Hutchinson Reservoir and marvel at the incredible display of color as the Disas bloom along the aquaduct and Disa River!

This will be a circular route that starts out hiking through the forest, followed by a pit stop at Skeleton Gorge Waterfall before ascending the trail to the top.

Hiking up Skeleton Gorge, being surrounded by trees, mossy rocks and the sound of the stream alongside is a very fulfilling experience. We’ll take our time along the aquaduct and Disa River and descend via Nursery Ravine.

Keep in mind that this is by no means an easy hike, safety is our main priority and we will do our best to minimize risks to ensure everyone completes the event safely. If you are unsure about your capability, please do enquire rather than assume.

Meet up Time: 06:00am

Duration : 6hrs

Distance : Roughly 16km

Difficulty level: Intermediate – Involves hiking for a long distance and includes steep sections as well as climbing wooden ladders. Endurance will be required but we will hike at a comfortable pace.
