Dark Gorge – 9 Aug (advanced)

R500.00

The Dark Gorge is one of the best-kept secrets in the park with few being able to tell the story. Hikers are encouraged to use the ‘safer’ option that’s parallel – Newlands Ravine

With that being said, we know how to guide it and experiencing it creates such great moment’s of freedom, especially this time of year when there’s water coming down the mountain.

Picture the most greenery mixed with the smoothest rock formations and walls in Table Mountain National Park.

One word – surreal

It’s steep terrain make you work constantly but in the most perfect setting. Not as exposed as people make it out to be, and absolutely beautiful.

#DarkGorge you beauty. What a climb. The views, breathtaking. So when the description from @trailfitsa said “the route less travelled”
the curious me immediately said “oh well I wanna check it out” and I got @smotshabi to be my partner in crime for the day🤣🤣

And off we went with Jody into a most scariest climb and yet so beautiful. At some point we were just scrambling through slippery rocks, waterfalls and bushes “ a push and pull” kinda climb. And before I know it Jody was like “guys well done we almost at the top, keep pushing about 100m to go” in my mind I’m like “really”

What a fulfilling hike it was, it took us about 2 and half hours to reach the top.
And we come down via the Newlands Ravine. Different atmosphere from what we just experience in the Dark Gorge…

And still had more time to stroll through Newlands Forest.

Many thanks to @trailfitsa, Jody you rock man👊🏾
