Chapmans Peak, a Southerly extension of Constantia Berg, is one of the hidden sunset gems in the Western Cape. The route has little traffic in comparison to other common sunset spots allowing for a more intimate experience.
You can expect spectacular views of Hout Bay Harbour and Sentinel Peak in the distance as the hike starts. When reaching the top of Chapmans Peak, a breathtaking revelation of 360 views is in order.
We’ll take a nice break, enjoy the sunset and get served a warm beverage and muffin.

Start time: 18:00pm
Duration: ± 4 hours (7kms up and down)
Difficulty: Intermediate with steep sections, but not too hard if you have uphill hiking experience. If you are unsure of your capacity, please do not hesitate to chat to us!

Even though this is an intermediate hike, I’ve felt this trail is “user-friendly ” yet still rewarding. It also goes without saying that the views of Hout Bay and the Sentinel are endlessly a welcomed sight while on the ascent. All-round great hike 👍🏾
