Blackburn Ravine Sunset – 21st Feb (Intermediate)

Blackburn Ravine is one of Hout Bay’s finest hikes, it leads up to the Sentinel View Point and the views are surely priceless.

The hike offers a moderate to challenging ascent through a lush ravine, surrounded by indigenous fynbos and impressive rock formations. The trail starts near Chapman’s Peak Drive and follows a well-marked path that gradually becomes steeper as you approach the top.

At the summit, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking views over Hout Bay, Noordhoek, and the Atlantic Ocean.

We’ll watch the sunset at a comfortable spot and follow a circular route down shortly after sunset while there’s still some light.

Experience something different and step it up a notch by doing a sunset hike. There’s something special about being up there at golden hour…

Meet up time: 18:20 pm
Duration: 2 hrs depending on pace
Distance: 7km
Difficulty level:  Entry level – no need for high level of fitness, but there is uphill hiking most of the way up. Some mild exposure while hiking.  We’ll hike at a comfortable pace since we have more than enough time.
